I have made several purchases from eBay because I found the price to be much cheaper than the nearby shop. Because eBay is an online marketplace the prices are very competitive and you can compare prices easily from different sellers and buy for the cheapest price. In India the safest way to pay of paying is to use PaisaPay. PaisaPay accepts credit cards and major internet banking transfers including ICICI bank, HDFC bank etc.
Tips forsafe shopping on eBay:
1. Never pay directly to the seller using bank deposit, cheque etc.
2. Keep all your e-mails from the transaction.
3. Use PaisaPay for payments in India. In other countries use PayPal.
4. Check the seller history.
Never buy domains and web hosting from eBay. When buying domains make sure that you have access to the domain control panel. When I first registered a domain I bought it from eBay. The seller registered the domain in my name, but I have no control over the domain name now.
